So at last we are caught up to the present. This morning Pebbles had yet another session in her stall with the flag. She picked up where we had left off and we spent 10 minutes getting her itchy spots and rubbing the flag all over. I can now move it down both sides of her belly and put it over her back and neck so that the flag dangles on the opposite side. She really likes having her chest scratched but isn't as sure about it touching her front legs. She doesn't panic but she picks up her leg and gives it a look, lol. As is my habit I end when she reaches out and touches my hand a couple of times. Her halter is still over the one ear but it doesn't seem to bother her and I am trying to not let it bother me so that I end up rushing her in an effort to "fix" it. I think that in another few days I will be able to adjust it.
The video below is from this evening's session. After I took the video I did a little more with her and then I made my first real contact! Taylor was just outside the stall in case I needed a quick exit and she seemed very receptive so I reached out and rubbed her neck about half way down. She got tense but didn't move and allowed me to scratch her for about 30 seconds before I pulled away and we called it a night. She is incredibly sensible and learns very quickly.
